Desde el 7 de marzo hasta el próximo 2 de junio de 2019 se podrá visitar en el Museo Arqueológico de Murcia la exposición VILLAE. La misma se compone de 125 objetos arqueológicos que ofrecen un recorrido por el mundo de las villae romanas en la Región de Murcia.

La villa es un conjunto de edificios que constituyen el centro de una finca (fundus) de dimensiones variables, desde pequeñas haciendas a grandes latifundios. La exposición se organiza en siete secciones en las que se muestran, a través de los distintos objetos, desde las formas de poblamiento rural y la explotación del medio, hasta vida cotidiana y los elementos funerarios. Entre las piezas más destacadas encontramos las estatuas-fuente y la Venus de los Cantos (Bullas) cedida por el Museo Arqueológico Nacional, el retrato funerario del Camino del Pedregal (Jumilla), o los mosaicos de teselas y la capsella de Portmán (Cartagena).

Murcia me gusta. Ciudad clara de colores calientes, de piedras tostadas, color de cacahuete tostado. Y notas deliciosas de luz, las calles estrechas y sin aceras, las “veredicas del cielo”, las tiendas de los artesanos, el esparto y la cuerda. Y ahora en el crepúsculo, una luz maravillosa.
